If you are an adult - check out my Keys to Piano Programme!
For school pupils - I am currently building a new project - 'Cotswold Piano Studio.' This involves recruiting excellent teachers and sending them into schools in need of a piano teacher. There is so much demand for piano lessons in the Cotswolds which is amazing, and I'd love to meet as much of the demand as possible. I currently have two fantastic teachers working alongside me and will share more info on this project as soon as I can! If your school needs a piano teacher, do use my contact form if you would like to discuss lessons and be added to the waiting list.
I have been teaching the piano for over 20 years, starting with Surrey County Arts and then operating as a private teacher within local schools when we moved to the Cotswolds. I currently teach in the Cotswold School, Wychwood C.of E Primary School and Bledington Primary School as well as at home. I teach all ages - literally from 5 to 80s..!
Through my years of teaching and also my own experience as a parent I have come across so many different kinds of education including Montessori, state schools, home education and a specialist SEN school. This has really informed my teaching philosophy as I truly believe there is no 'one size fits all' and every pupil learns in their own way, at their own pace and in their own style. Therefore I take time to get to know my pupils, see how they tick, what works and what doesn't, and hopefully be flexible enough to make changes where necessary!
Some of my pupils take exams and others don't. I encourage many of them to take part in the annual 'Chipping Norton Music Festival' as this is a fantastic opportunity for performance and feedback. Pictured is my pupil Jonty, who won the 'Most promising primary school pianist' award, with a trophy presented by guitarist Craig Ogden. This year I held my first pupil recital in Milton church which was a great success!
I am a full member of the ISM.
